The thing is the thing; everything else is a means to the thing or a distraction.
Focus is difficult.
What are you working on?
There is the public, good answer – “Our objective.”
However, is that reflected on your calendar?
If it isn’t – are you sure that’s your objective? If you ask the person setting the objective to look at your calendar, would they like what they see?
If you are setting the objective, are you focused? If you ask your direct to look at their calendar and cross-examine that with your requests, would they think you were wasting their time?
The thing is the thing. If there is no thing, the time will fill, with no problem. However, if there is a thing, everything else is a distraction.
